Child moved out

May 13th 2009 - This is the day my second one moved out after a big quarrel with daddy. So sad, after the happy holidays :( Well, she's big enough = 22, should be independent already and can experience the outside world. Hope's everything will be ok eventually.

Europe Day 6

Went to Pisa to see the leaning tower, took a long train ride from Nice - 7 hours with a break in between. met a French girl designer on the train. Had a nice chat with her.

Nothing interesting in Pisa - just looking at a tower leaning!! Anyway it's one of the seven wonders which husband must see before we died.

Husband bought a sling bag :)

Never like to go back to Italy - the last time almost get pick-pocket, this time the same thing happens!!!!

Europe Day 4 & 5

Took a 5 hour train ride to Nice. It's a leisurely ride with splendid scenery along the way, especially the French Riveria. From Nice we took an hour bus ride to Monaco.
Visited the Monte Carlo casino, have to pay 10 euros for entrance fee - lost some money playing there, not worth it. The inside is real grand, as seen in the movies, too bad cant take any pictures, should have taken some secretly.

Europe Day 3

Today, went to Galeries Lafayette, it's a huge shopping centre, wonder how they can support itself, the prices are sky high, most people window shopped. Visited Notre Dame, Sacre Coeur,

Europe Day 2

Traveled around Paris on our own. Took the metro and the rail (RER). Easy to find our way around once we get used to the lines - so many of them and so many connections. Not bad - the Parisians do speak English! anyway we need very little help. Went to Arch de Triumph, followed by Champs Elysee - bought a LV pouch for a friend for slightly more than S$800 which is considered "cheap". First time I buy a real branded goods.

In the afternoon we went to the Eiffel Tower. Didn't go all the way to the top 'cos there's a very long queue. We took the stairs up the tower - it's a tiring climb, developed sore thighs the next day. But the view up there is worth the climb.
Bought a lot of key chains - husband bargained.

Europe Day 1

Left England for Paris by Eurostar - took about 2 hours. It's really nice fast speed train @300kmph, so much better than by ferry across the channel years ago.

Manage to find a hotel at 65 euros near the railway station - with shower, internet and breakfast. Just a small tiny room but the price suit us perfectly. Didn't do much as it was evening. Just walk around the area near Gare Du Nord station. Food here is expensive, so we survived on baguette
