England Day 3
Today is the day for us to take the underground around london on our own. We took a train from winchester to waterloo station, then from there took the tube.
Didn't go to the usual touristy place as we've been there before. We went to Camden Town - it's a huge flea market, with interesting things and queer people around. Nice just to watch people. Next, we visited the Crockford (I think)at green park. Then took a ride on the London eye, followed by a cruise on the river thames. It was raining and windy, quite a cold day!
England Day 1
Took British Airways to England on night of 14th april, reach England at 6am after a 12 and a half non-stop flight. Was met by the Pringle at Heathrow, so nice of them to wake up so early to fetch us. It was an hour's drive to their house in Winchester.
Had breakfast, after which we went to tour Winchester College, which the 3 generations of Pringle studied there, impressive! Then, we had lunch at a pub, after which we visited Winchester Cathedral. We also passed by the flat where Jane Austen lived her last days.
Next, we visited King Arthur's round table. By tea-time, we walked by the meadows back to their house - lovely walk even though we are tired - weather is cool, seeing swans and ducks along the way - not in our city!
We then went to King's Cross Hospital which is near their place. This is where Eve volunteered her services. It houses the poor and above 60s men. It's a big compound but they only housed 29 of them. To us, it's such a waste of space, which they have.
Finally we settled to bed at 8pm. Gosh, we were really really shacked, with almost no sleep on the airplane - it's more than 36 hours of waking time.
